Hummingbird Technologies Ltd is an artificial intelligence business using drone and satellite technology, along with our proprietary algorithms, to provide farmers and agronomists maps within 24 hours to help them make informed farm management decisions. Innovative disease detection and yield prediction algorithms form the base of our software and analytic platform. This software — which is being developed to integrate with existing farm management enterprise systems — provides invaluable in-field intelligence for farmers, which will enable enhanced decision-making concerning agrochemical application, crop evaluation and sustainable land management. We are currently expanding in Russia, Ukraine and Brazil.Hummingbird works closely with its largest strategic shareholder, Velcourt, and over the past two years we’ve been doing a vast amount of R&D work, having flown in excess of 120,000 hectares, over 50 farms last year. This work has been carried out with businesses and institutes such as such as Hutchinson’s, BASF, Harper Adams University, and Cambridge Agri-Tech (which includes investors such as NIAB, G’s, Smithson Hill, Elsom’s, A H Worth and Spearhead).
