2D animator for two cutscenes – "I Need To Go" (90s cartoon style)

Team Njinga·Salary not specified

Job description

About the Position

We are Aldgard Studio, a three-person indie team from Sweden. We're creating I Need To Go, a nostalgic point-and-click adventure built in Unreal Engine 5, planned for release on Steam in 2027. The game is about 70% complete.

The story follows Eddie, a naive metalhead who is lost in life and has to find his girlfriend, Lisa. On the way, he learns a lot about himself and his flaws. The game itself is pixel art, but for the cutscenes, we want a different look: something close to a traditional 90s cartoon.

Responsibilities

  • Create two cutscenes, delivered as.mp4:
    • Intro (~1 min): A close shot of Eddie falling through a cave-like area. He talks, grabs a photo, and turns around just before landing. The landing itself is a black screen with sound, so it needs no animation. The script and voice track are finished and can be shared as reference.
    • Ending: Details are confidential and will be shared once we have an agreement in place.

Our initial idea is full animation, but we're flexible. A mix of animation and still panels is fine if that works better for you.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in 2D Animation
  • Ability to work in a 90s cartoon style

Timeline

Both cutscenes should be finished before May 2027, if possible.

Compensation

Revenue share. You will of course be credited in the game. All terms go into a written agreement before work starts.
