3D Computer Vision & Sensor Systems Specialist

Compensation (Hourly Rate)

• US-based candidates: Starting from $80 USD / hour.
• Europe candidates: Starting from $45 USD / hour.

A technology company is seeking a specialist with expertise in 3D computer vision, sensor integration, and real-time data processing to support the development of an interactive hardware-software platform. The successful candidate will help replicate and extend functionality currently provided by a proprietary sensor communication framework. This role requires strong technical capability in interpreting data from multiple sensors, processing and fusing that information, and enabling reliable communication between hardware and software systems.

Responsibilities

• Sensor Data Integration: Interface with and interpret data streams from multiple sensors and tracking devices. Analyse sensor outputs and ensure accurate, reliable data capture. Support the reverse-engineering or recreation of existing sensor communication workflows where required.
• Data Processing & Computer Vision: Develop pipelines for processing, filtering, and transforming sensor data. Implement algorithms for spatial tracking, object detection, positioning, and real-time interpretation of 3D environments. Improve accuracy, latency, and robustness of sensor-driven systems.
• Hardware & Software Communication: Design and implement communication layers between sensors, control systems, and applications. Generate and transmit control signals to downstream hardware components and software platforms. Ensure reliable real-time performance across the entire system.
• Systems Development: Build and maintain software components that connect sensing, processing, and application layers. Diagnose and resolve integration, performance, and reliability issues. Contribute to architecture decisions related to data flow, communication protocols, and system scalability.

Requirements

• Strong experience in computer vision, sensor fusion, robotics, motion tracking, or related fields.
• Experience working with multiple sensor types such as depth cameras, LiDAR, infrared, IMU, or optical tracking systems.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, or similar languages used in real-time systems development.
• Familiarity with real-time data processing, low-latency systems, and hardware-software integration.
• Understanding of communication protocols, device drivers, and sensor SDKs.
• Experience with 3D spatial data, tracking systems, or interactive environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently in environments with incomplete documentation and evolving technical requirements.

Nice to Have

• Gaming, simulation, XR/VR/AR, or interactive installation environments.
• Sensor calibration, tracking systems, or motion-capture technologies.
• Computer vision frameworks such as OpenCV, Open3D, PCL, or similar.
• Experience integrating custom hardware with software applications.
• Familiarity with embedded systems or robotics platforms.
