Accountant-Economist in Management Accounting

About the Position

We are seeking an Accountant-Economist in Management Accounting to join our team, responsible for recording and classifying purchases, allocating costs, and supporting management accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Accounting and Classification

This area will account for approximately 75% of the workload.

• Review approved contracts and source documents in the Procurement module.
• Classify and code expenses by CAPEX / OPEX category, Financial Responsibility Centre (FRC), project, and management accounting item.
• Record inventory movements and warehouse transactions, including:
  • processing goods receipt notes;
  • recording inventory write-offs and transfers;
  • assisting with the monitoring of warehouse stock balances.
• Cooperate with purchase request initiators to clarify the information required for the correct classification and allocation of expenses.

Period-End Closing and Cost Allocation

This area will account for approximately 25% of the workload.

• Calculate and allocate indirect and overhead costs among the company’s departments.
• Allocate production overheads and administrative expenses by Financial Responsibility Centre and business area.
• Monitor accounts payable by project.
• Perform reconciliations with suppliers.
• Enter data into the ERP system.
• Actively participate in the implementation and configuration of the company’s new ERP system.

Professional Competencies

Financial and Economic Knowledge

• Understanding of CAPEX and OPEX structures.
• Knowledge of the principles governing Financial Responsibility Centres.
• Understanding of indirect and overhead cost allocation principles.
• Basic understanding of management reporting methods, including P&L and Cash Flow statements.

Analytical Skills

• Ability to analyse source data systematically.
• Ability to determine the economic substance of business transactions.
• Experience working with large volumes of financial and analytical data.

Software Skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, including:
  • formulas;
  • pivot tables;
  • processing and analysing large datasets.
• Experience working with modern ERP systems other than 1C will be an advantage.

• Attention to detail and accountability: a high level of organisation, self-discipline, and accuracy when working with analytical data.

Required Qualifications

• A university degree in economics or finance in one of the following areas:
  • financial analysis;
  • corporate finance;
  • business economics;
  • accounting;
  • another related field.
• Some professional experience in a finance, accounting, economics, or analytics department.
