About the Position

Accounting Close Lead

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Close Lead to join Lovable, a leading software creation platform. This role involves managing the month-end close and consolidation process across our US, Swedish, and UK entities under US GAAP. You will be instrumental in building a continuous close process where AI handles routine tasks, and people focus on critical thinking and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the month-end close and consolidation process across US, Sweden, and the UK under US GAAP.
• Run the close calendar to ensure timely completion and streamline it as automation takes over routine tasks.
• Partner with the Accounting Controller to transition towards a continuous close process.
• Design and implement automated reconciliations, flux analysis, and journal entry workflows.
• Ensure all workflows are audit-ready from the start, with proper controls, review steps, and evidence trails.
• Support group external audits, including PBC requests, walkthroughs, reconciliations, and audit adjustments.
• Assist with statutory audits in the UK and Sweden.
• Maintain and update close documentation and policies.
• Collaborate with Order-to-Cash, Financial Systems, Data, and FP&A to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting.
• Coach and mentor the accounting team to enhance quality and ownership.

Requirements

• Must have

  • Experience running a month-end close and consolidation under US GAAP across multiple entities.
  • Experience with Big 4 audits from the company side.
  • A strong drive to build an AI-first, continuous close process.
  • Deep respect for the rigor required in public company controls, review evidence, documentation, and calendars.
  • Operationally minded with a preference for fixing broken processes.
  • Experience with a company's journey from startup to IPO or public-company readiness, including SOX.
  • Big 4 audit background before moving in-house.
  • Hands-on experience with modern finance tooling (Light ERP and Lovable) and building automations.

• Nice to Have

  • Experience with Swedish or UK statutory reporting and audits.
