About the Position

Accounting Team Lead for Administration

Avion Express is a narrow-body ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, Insurance) and charter operator. Avion Express provides top-level short and long-term aircraft wet-leasing (ACMI) solutions and also offers its clients aircraft on a charter basis. The company operates an Airbus A320 family aircraft fleet.

Avion Express is looking for ambitious professionals to support the company's matters and further development of the company. The position is based in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of accountants, ensuring task distribution, quality control, and continuous professional development.
  • Coordinate and supervise the monthly closing process within the team.
  • Collaborate closely with other Team Leads and departments to ensure smooth cross-functional operations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for escalations, complex cases, and audit-related queries.
  • Oversee the processing of invoices and payments related to administrative expenses (office costs, services, etc.).
  • Supervise payroll accounting processes, including monthly salary runs, statutory deductions (Sodra, GPM), and related reporting.
  • Ensure VAT reporting, tax submissions, and compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate payment runs and related approvals.
  • Any other duties delegated by the direct manager.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in accounting, with at least 1–2 years in a senior and/or lead role.
  • Education in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field would be a strong asset.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and experience with month-end closing processes.
  • Proven experience working with ERP systems (e.g. Business Central, Navision, or similar); proficiency in Excel, would be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, including task planning, delegation, performance monitoring, and motivation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across different departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Experience with audits, compliance, and reporting requirements in your area of responsibility (e.g., payroll, VAT, inventory, revenue).
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Working proficiency in English.
