ADAS HMI Engineer, Customer Application

About the Position

The Human System Integration team is developing the human machine interface (HMI) to ensure drivers can use advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) safely and securely.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team in defining requirements, designing functionality, and implementing software for the HMI control application.
- Conduct HMI evaluations using a vehicle and a driving simulator, and collaborate with team members and related application teams.
- Review and provide advice to ensure software quality in mass-production development.
- Negotiate with Toyota Motor Corporation and other partners to establish development items, schedules, and budget.
- Work in the office 3 days per week following our hybrid work policy.
Requirements
- 3+ years in software engineering for consumer-focused applications.
- Experience as a tech lead, helping other programmers with software implementation projects.
- Experience working directly with various teams to understand and share requirements, specifications, and technical details.
- Ability and experience communicating in Japanese, including written and oral, in a working environment.
Nice to Have
- 3+ years of experience in HMI development for mass production vehicles or development of control software for cockpit ECUs of Meter, HUD, or multimedia systems.
- 3+ years of production-level programming experience in C.
- Experience in embedded or ECU software development.
- Experience in model-based development (MBD) using MATLAB, Simulink, or similar technologies.
- Experience in mobile/web/desktop application development using Python, Flutter, Unity, Blender, or similar.
- Background with automotive industry standards such as functional safety (ISO 26262) and SOTIF.
- Project management experience with Agile/Scrum.
- Driving simulator development experience.
- Experience in UX planning and interactive design.
