About the Role
This resource will play a key individual contributor role in supporting our SAP S/4HANA transformation program, with a primary focus on Controlling (CO), COPA (Profitability Analysis), and COPC (Product Costing). You will help design, implement, and support solutions that enable accurate product costing, profitability and margin analysis, cost allocation, month-end close, and financial reporting. You will collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, IT, and other business stakeholders to ensure effective integration across SAP FI, MM, SD, PP, and PS.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, configuration, implementation, and support of SAP Controlling (CO) solutions, with a primary focus on COPA (Profitability Analysis), COPC (Product Costing), Material Ledger, Actual Costing, and Cost Object Controlling within an SAP S/4HANA environment.
- Act as the subject matter expert for product costing and profitability analysis, ensuring accurate standard cost calculations, variance analysis, cost allocations, margin reporting, financial reconciliation, and month-end closing activities.
- Continuously partner with colleagues across Finance, Accounting, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT, and other business functions to ensure that end-to-end costing, profitability, reporting, and FI/CO integration requirements are effectively designed and delivered.
- Guide the development and optimization of SAP CO processes and solutions, including cost center accounting, project accounting, activity types, allocations, settlements, Material Ledger, group valuation, transfer pricing, and integration with FI, MM, SD, PP, and PS.
- Actively support the establishment of scalable S/4HANA Finance and Controlling best practices, including Universal Journal-based reporting, process optimization, reconciliation controls, advanced analytics, and automation.
Requirements
- A thorough understanding of SAP Controlling (CO) processes, including COPA (Profitability Analysis), COPC (Product Costing), cost center accounting, project accounting, cost element accounting, allocations, settlements, variance analysis, and month-end closing.
- 5–9 years of SAP CO experience, with deep hands-on expertise in COPA and COPC, along with experience supporting SAP S/4HANA transformation and implementation projects.
- Demonstrable knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, Universal Journal (ACDOCA), Material Ledger, Actual Costing, Group Valuation, product costing, profitability reporting, and FI/CO integration.
- Proficiency in integrating SAP CO with FI, MM, SD, PP, and PS, with the ability to analyze end-to-end cost and profitability impacts across purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, sales billing, and project-related transactions.
- Well-versed in manufacturing costing processes, financial and controlling reporting, data reconciliation, and translating financial data into actionable business insights, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field, with additional advanced education or relevant SAP training being a plus.
- Experience supporting large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programs, particularly involving COPA, COPC, Material Ledger, Actual Costing, and Group Valuation.
- Experience with consolidation and reporting solutions such as OneStream.
- Professional certifications in SAP (FI, CO), Project Management (PMP), and Accounting (CPA) are preferred.
