About the Position
Are you ready to change the world? One Way Aerospace is rebooting the arsenal of democracy by providing long-range, precision strike drones mass-produced in Ukraine. We are looking for a talented Aeronautical Engineer Intern to join our team who is excited to drive simple, elegant solutions to complex problems that will help save lives every day.
Responsibilities
As an Aeronautical Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for bringing future generations of our air vehicles from concept to production. You will work with teams through development in a regulated landscape, identifying when to speed up and when to slow down in a project to execute on tight timelines. You will bring a passion for aviation and the excitement to champion technology that is first of its kind.
What You’ll Bring
Must Have
- Solid understanding of the fundamentals of aviation and engineering from concept to design.
- Prior experience owning a design from concept through production of a safety-critical component or subsystem in a regulated environment (Aviation/automotive).
- Understanding of the principles and constraints of mechanical and aeronautical engineering principles. An understanding of how they interact with other elements like design, materials, and manufacturing would be a bonus.
- Technical leadership experience; you’ve owned major technical trades and design decisions with broad cross-functional impact.
- Ability to use engineering design software like CATIA, Solidworks, or another 3D modeling software.
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques like 3D printing, CNCing, and at least a theoretical understanding of composite structures.
- Experienced design to aerospace or automotive level validation standards.
- Excellent communication, written, verbal, and visual skills.
- Team builder, experience mentoring high-caliber teammates, including those better than you in their craft.
- Passion for the aviation industry and pioneering designs in regulated environments.
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated understanding of the FAA certification process.
- Identification of clean configuration and change control processes as an engineering stakeholder.
- Experience with DFMEA or fault tree analysis as a design tool.
- You’ve grown a team, you’re experienced with hiring and people management.
