Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements
About the Position
EOS Data Analytics is a software company that operates in the commercial space niche, with its main office in the USA and development centers in Ukraine (Kyiv, Dnipro). We are developing digital online platforms that utilize data from space, satellites, and other sources for various purposes across numerous domains. Using our custom algorithms, we create analytical solutions for business development to address challenges in agriculture, forestry, oil & gas, alternative energy, security, and other space-related industries.
Our products include:
- EOSDA Crop Monitoring: A satellite-driven online platform for precision agriculture.
- EOSDA LandViewer: An online tool for working with satellite data.
- Other platforms under NDA.
We are seeking an experienced Agronomist to join our team as a remote consultant.
Responsibilities
- Product & Data Science Advisory: Advises product managers and Data Science teams on real-world field challenges, threats, and "pain points" for core global crops (Corn, Soybeans, Winter Wheat, Sunflower, and Sugarcane).
- Risk Calendar Development: Creates and verifies crop-specific "risk calendars" mapped to phenological stages for key agricultural regions.
- Risk Trigger Mapping: Defines and describes environmental triggers for agricultural risks (e.g., weather anomalies, soil moisture levels) and estimates their rate of spread and impact.
- Satellite Data Integration: Helps connect physical field issues with satellite imagery by describing visual ground markers and explaining their direct impact on vegetation indices (e.g., drops in NDVI, water stress in NDMI).
- Algorithm Validation: Validates agronomic logic and actively tests newly developed risk detection algorithms to ensure accuracy and real-world relevance.
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
- At least 3 years of practical, hands-on experience working as an agronomist, with a strong focus on target crops (corn, soybeans, wheat).
- Deep understanding of in-field challenges, including crop-specific diseases, pests, and crop responses to weather anomalies and stress.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate raw "field experience" into structured data, logical rules, and frameworks that developers and data scientists can easily interpret.
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) sufficient for clear cross-functional communication.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Prior experience utilizing satellite monitoring platforms or Farm Management Systems (FMS).
- A foundational understanding of how vegetation indices function.
Tools & Tech Stack
- Understanding of basic remote sensing indices (NDVI, NDMI, etc.).
- Proficiency with the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Sheets).
We Offer
- An opportunity to shape the future of AgTech and precision farming on a global scale.
- Collaboration with a high-performing international team of scientists, developers, and product experts.
- Competitive compensation and robust opportunities for professional growth.
