About the Position

AI Engineer (f/m/d)

We are looking for an AI Engineer to join our team at Fabasoft in Vienna, Austria. If you enjoy driving AI use cases from the initial idea through prototyping to production, leveraging modern AI technologies to advance the digital transformation of the public sector, then you've come to the right place.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate AI-powered use cases for the Fabasoft eGov Suite, such as automated document classification, intelligent information extraction, automated summarization, and semantic search.
• Implement AI use cases using common programming languages such as Python, as well as the native Fabasoft development language, app.ducx.
• Support the entire development lifecycle-from feasibility analysis and proof of concept (PoC), through the selection of suitable AI models (e.g., APIs or open-source LLMs), to implementation within the Fabasoft eGov Suite.
• Ensure that AI features meet the high standards of the public sector, with a strong focus on data protection (GDPR), accessibility, quality, and reliability.

Requirements

• Completed degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (e.g., NLP, LLMs, Computer Vision, or Information Retrieval).
• Solid programming skills in Python or Java.
• Familiarity with modern software architectures and development methodologies.
• Eagerness to learn the Fabasoft development language, app.ducx.
• Excellent German language skills (spoken and written) and a good command of English.
