About the Position

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer (Python, Azure) to join our central AI team in Lisbon, Portugal. Our team is dedicated to building GenAI-powered applications, agents, and workflow automation components for internal business teams. The goal is to deploy production-grade AI solutions that can be monitored, improved, and reused across the organization.

Responsibilities

Build AI applications, assistants, agents, and workflow automation components using modern GenAI engineering patterns.
Design and implement integrations with AI platform services, APIs, enterprise systems, and data platforms.
Develop retrieval, tool-use, orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and guardrail components for production AI solutions.
Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to connect models, prompts, workflows, and data pipelines into reliable end-to-end solutions.
Support the implementation of agentic workflows that can be reused across teams.
Improve developer experience, engineering standards, reusable templates, and production readiness for AI software delivery.

Requirements

4-6 Years of experience in AI engineering
Proficiency in Python for software engineering
Experience with SQL Server
Knowledge of Azure AI Services
Experience building GenAI applications, assistants, agents, or AI-enabled workflow automation
Understanding of RAG, prompt and context engineering, tool calling, evaluation, and orchestration
Experience with APIs, cloud-native services, data pipelines, and enterprise integration patterns
English proficiency at level B2

Nice to Have

Experience with Azure AI Foundry
Familiarity with Microsoft Agent Framework, LangChain, MCP, or comparable agent frameworks
Experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar GenAI engineering tools
Experience with agentic workflow builders, dashboards, or user-facing AI applications
Knowledge of Snowflake, vector databases, observability tooling, or LLM gateway patterns
Published research or academic work involving Python and Deep Learning
