AI Implementation Specialist (Construction Technology)

About the Position

We are seeking an AI Implementation Specialist (Construction Technology) to join our team. This role is pivotal in integrating AI strategies into construction technology, enhancing the effectiveness of our design-build partners.

Responsibilities

Field Intelligence & Expert Knowledge Capture

Conduct structured job shadows of Project Engineers, Project Managers, and superintendents across various project types to map daily workflows and identify areas of friction, waste, and brilliance.
Extract and codify expert knowledge from experienced construction professionals to capture institutional intelligence.
Synthesize field observations into actionable briefs for our venture studio and product teams.
Build and maintain a living knowledge base of construction workflows, pain points, and technology gaps.
Identify systemic patterns across jobsites and project types that point to high-leverage opportunities for technology intervention or process improvement.

Contech Landscape & Evaluation

Maintain comprehensive, current knowledge of the construction technology landscape.
Evaluate emerging technologies against real jobsite needs observed firsthand.
Develop technology fit assessments to determine where tools could create value.
Brief Human Agency and client leadership on contech trends and investment-worthy companies.
Contribute to our venture studio thesis on the AEC industry's direction and technology gaps.

AI Enablement & Coaching

Help jobsite teams understand and adopt AI-assisted workflows.
Run hands-on coaching sessions to translate AI capabilities into construction language.
Identify the highest-leverage AI use cases for specific roles and project types.
Serve as the credible, trusted voice on AI and technology for field teams.
Surface adoption barriers and workflow mismatches to the product team for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Required

Construction industry experience (3+ years) with time spent on or around jobsites.
Deep fluency with the contech landscape.
AI literacy that goes beyond using tools like ChatGPT.
Exceptional communication skills across various audiences.
Comfort with heavy travel (60–80%) to jobsites across the country.
Natural credibility with construction professionals.

Preferred

Direct experience with construction technology platforms.
Background in construction technology or AEC innovation.
Experience in technology evaluation, venture analysis, or strategic advisory roles.
Familiarity with how AI products are built.
Comfort operating in a consulting structure.
