About the Position
BRDO is an independent expert and analytical center working on the development of state policies and reforms for the economic development of Ukraine. We support government bodies in creating solutions that have a practical impact on business, the state, and citizens.
We are looking for a highly qualified Data Analyst with experience in the energy sector. Our ideal candidate is capable of not only analyzing data, legislation, and the regulatory environment but also formulating conceptual approaches to solving systemic challenges in the energy sector. It is important that the candidate is able to independently conduct research, form reasoned conclusions, develop policy recommendations, and present them to key stakeholders in the energy sector.
This position involves participating in the development of methodologies, analytical tools, and recommendations that can be used during the preparation of state programs, regulatory acts, and strategic documents.
Responsibilities
- Analysis of price indicators and trading activity on the Wholesale Day-Ahead Market (W-DAM) and the Wholesale Continuous Market (W-CM);
- Calculation of the potential for distributed generation, cogeneration, energy storage, and energy efficiency measures;
- Conducting quantitative data analysis to identify patterns, relationships, correlations, and factors of influence;
- Preparation of analytical notes, policy papers, position documents, and recommendations;
- Development of concepts, methodologies, and practical mechanisms for the development of the energy sector;
- Preparation of proposals for improving state policy and regulatory regulation;
- Conversion of data sets into graphs, dashboards, and infographics;
- Development of methodologies: Creation of evaluation systems, indicators, and algorithms for state programs and regulatory acts.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in analytical work;
- Higher education (bachelor's/master's) in economics, technical, finance, IT, or data analysis;
- Practical experience in preparing analytical materials, reports, research, policies;
- Skills in working with large sets of information and data;
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, as well as a basic understanding of the gas sector, heat supply, renewable energy, and energy efficiency;
- English language proficiency at least at the B2 level (ability to read and analyze European directives, ENTSO-E reports).
Nice to Have
- Experience in the energy sector (government bodies, energy companies, NGO sector);
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization tools;
- Experience in independently presenting developed recommendations to key stakeholders in the energy sector.
