Responsibilities

As a Mass Conversion Analyst, you will serve as a member of the Mass Conversion team responsible for ensuring the successful and accurate conversion of data for large scale acquisitions and new Empower clients. Your role will involve:

  • Participating in in-depth discussions with internal and external clients regarding data mapping strategies often across multiple plans.
  • Analyzing, interpreting, and mapping data fields based on business rules, recordkeeping functionality, and client specifications.
  • Identifying and resolving data anomalies and functional differences between systems to ensure accurate data conversion.
  • Conducting data discovery to ensure all required data elements are obtained, validated, and ready for load.
  • Reviewing and quality-checking data files prior to and after system loading to confirm accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Empower’s data standards.
  • Documenting mapping decisions, validation results, and issue resolutions to maintain accurate project records.
  • Coordinating with internal teams-including Implementation, Recordkeeping, and Quality Assurance-to meet established conversion milestones.
  • Supporting testing efforts related to data validation, rule configuration, and downstream dependencies.
  • Maintaining a moderate level of autonomy in decision-making and prioritization while adhering to project timelines and escalation procedures.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and client experience within the mass conversion process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working with defined contribution plan data, recordkeeping systems, or data conversions.
  • FINRA fingerprinting required.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and apply plan provisions, data rules, and mapping logic accurately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Empower recordkeeping systems and conversion processes.
  • Familiarity with data mapping tools, data validation techniques, and structured data formats (e.g., Excel, CSV, XML).
  • Knowledge of plan administration, retirement plan compliance, or related financial industry regulations.
