Analytics Senior Manager - Risk & Controls

We’re looking for a Senior Analytics Manager who is passionate about our mission of Money Without Borders to partner with our financial crime product teams to help drive data-driven and innovative growth decisions while helping to combat financial crime.

Our mission within the Risk & Controls team in APAC is to stay one step ahead of emerging risk while ensuring that our customers enjoy a seamless experience. In this vital role, you will innovate and implement controls that enhance security without compromising user convenience.

Most importantly, you’ll collaborate closely with your product managers, designers, data scientists, and engineers to bring your insights into real change for our customers and help drive our mission!

Responsibilities

• Expose vast data on our processes to the product teams across Wise in a meaningful and actionable way
• Proactively contribute to, own, create, track key metrics and results for your product and operational teams
• Support stakeholders by conducting research, preparing reports, and visualizations
• Work with data scientists in understanding and developing the means for detecting and mitigating financial crime
• Build the framework for managing risk and customer experience at scale
• Drive the discovery phase by scoping new opportunities and suggesting features, rules, and models to combat emerging risks
• Collaborate with Product, Data Scientists, Engineering, and Operations Team

Requirements

• Strong quantitative skills, ideally with a background in statistics, maths, physics, engineering, or other scientific areas
• Experience in the financial crime domain (typologies and alert investigations) balancing risk and customer experience
• 9-10+ years of experience in data analytics (in financial crime or risk analytics) and 4-5+ years leading others (can be overlapping)
• Experience with SQL and Python/R
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions
• Ability to structure business problems with minimal supervision and prioritize problems independently
• Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and storytelling ability with data

Nice to Have

• Experience with user-facing products and data
• Machine learning experience
• Knowledge of regulations, sanctions compliance, and financial crime frameworks
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance standards
• Knowledge of A/B testing
