About the Team

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Specialist group provides global support to business partners in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan. Key tasks include assisting in budget planning and financial reporting (variance analysis, forecast preparation). The FP&A team works closely with each business partner to create business outlooks (pricing models, cost structures), report financial results, and provide insights on business outcomes and progress.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted financial and business partner to assigned business units, providing financial advice and strategic recommendations
• Analyze monthly performance, identify variances from plans, conduct root cause analysis, and share insights with stakeholders and management
• Prepare financial reports and presentations for executive management, the board of directors, and external stakeholders
• Participate in annual and monthly financial planning processes from a management accounting perspective
• Create and maintain rolling forecasts, updating predictions based on performance and changes in the business environment
• Develop financial models, cost structures, and labor cost models to support business planning
• Prepare estimates for individual service agreements and project-based financial planning
• Operate and improve financial systems, including Oracle EPM and Oracle Fusion
• Promote automation and transformation initiatives to enhance data quality and operational efficiency
• Collect, manage, and analyze financial data to support reporting and decision-making

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in FP&A, business planning, or as a finance business partner
• Extensive experience in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Skills in data aggregation, analysis, and report creation using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Basic knowledge of financial accounting and management accounting
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders
• Experience working with multinational teams or adaptability to global environments
• Proficiency in both Japanese and English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Basic understanding of databases

Nice to Have

• Experience in the IT or automotive industry
• Experience with Oracle Fusion and Oracle EPM
• Experience in creating reports and data visualization using BI tools like Power BI
• Experience in financial process reform, business process improvement, and automation/DX promotion
• Knowledge of AI utilization and digital tools in the financial field
