We are looking for an Android developer to join our development team, passionate about pushing mobile technologies to their limits.

You will work alongside our engineers to design and build the next generation of mobile applications for humanoid robots.

Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform.
• Collaborate with teams from other departments to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Work with external data sources and APIs.
• Write unit tests for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and reliability.
• Fix bugs and improve application performance.
• Discover, evaluate, and apply new technologies that increase development efficiency.
• Handle the security of the database and the Android application.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of application communication with the server.
• At least one original Android application published (projects from college count).
• Experience with remote data through REST and JSON.
• Experience with external libraries and APIs.
• Experience with voice communication in Android applications.
• Knowledge of the mobile landscape: architectures, trends, and new technologies.
• Understanding of the entire mobile application development cycle.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently when needed.
• Good time management skills.
• Easy communication with colleagues and clients.

Nice to Have

• Experience with external SDKs.
• Integration of a knowledge base or chatbot in an Android application.

What does the selection process look like?

Submit your CV through the form on this page. If your profile matches, you will receive a practical test, usually an online test, followed by a technical interview and an interview with the team. You will receive feedback at each stage via email.

How is the online test conducted?

The test is taken from the browser with the camera and screen sharing turned on, after you give your consent. If you cannot or do not want to use the camera, you can choose the version supervised by an IRIS colleague, without any disadvantage.

Where is the work location?

At the IRIS Robotics headquarters in Iași, Strada Rândunica 2. The position is full-time and not remote.

What is the salary?

The salary package will be discussed during the interview, depending on experience.
