About the Position

Application Engineer

Hitachi Energy is seeking a dedicated Application Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. In this role, you will ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, develop and sustain an effective control environment, and contribute to corporate governance.

Responsibilities

• Work with the calculation and coordination of relay settings for HV Line, Transformer, Busbar, and Generator protection.
• Validate IED configuration and perform application checks for functions.
• Collaborate with Wavein or Sigra for fault analysis.
• Provide technical solution/product support to sales teams during the early stages of the sales process.
• Drive key activities such as specification influence prior to requests for proposals, proof of concepts, homologation, and solution designs to solve customer pain points.
• Work closely with global, HUB, and local organizations to ensure continuous technical enablement and education on the latest product and solution offerings.
• Impart training to internal and external customers on Protections.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Work experience in Testing and Commissioning of Line, Transformer, Busbar, Generator protection relays, and Substation Automation System.
• Familiarity with control and relay panels schematic drawings.
• Experience with IED configuration tools such as PCM600, DIGSI, Agile S1 Studio, Easergy Studio, EnerVista, etc.
• Experience with Wavein or Sigra for fault analysis.
• Working knowledge of protocols such as IEC61850, Modbus, etc.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
