Role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Architect to lead the technical evaluation and definition of the architecture for a global post-sales transformation initiative for a major premium consumer goods brand.

This mission aims to understand the current technological landscape of service activities, evaluate the maturity of the existing architecture, identify technical and operational gaps, and then define a target ecosystem enabling scalable, connected, and customer-centric post-sales operations.

The ideal candidate combines solid expertise in architecture with experience in service-oriented business areas such as repair, warranty management, maintenance, returns, restoration, or on-site services. You must be comfortable evaluating complex application environments, integration ecosystems, and data flows, while collaborating with business stakeholders to understand how technologies support operational processes.

This position will play a key role in defining the architectural vision, technology roadmap, and platform strategy that will support future transformation initiatives.

We are looking for a senior architect with proven experience in evaluating complex enterprise environments and designing modern, scalable technological ecosystems.

You will lead technical discovery activities, analyze application and integration landscapes, evaluate the maturity of the existing architecture, and make recommendations for the target architecture. In close collaboration with business and technology teams, you will bridge the gap between service processes and the systems, integrations, APIs, and data models that support them.

Experience in the following areas will be a real asset to succeed in this role:

  • Enterprise architecture and solution architecture
  • Application architecture and integration architecture
  • Legacy system modernization
  • Post-sales services and service operations
  • Workshop facilitation and stakeholder management
  • Translating business needs into technical architecture decisions

The ideal candidate has experience in sectors where products consist of multiple components or serialized parts, such as automotive, watchmaking, jewelry, industrial equipment, medical devices, or similar environments. They understand the specific challenges related to the maintenance and repair of repairable products, including traceability of components, history of interventions, warranty management, and repair logistics.

They must also be comfortable in large-scale international technological environments, composed of historical (legacy) platforms, regional variants, and complex integration dependencies.

You must be equally comfortable analyzing integration schemas and API strategies, facilitating architecture workshops, and presenting recommendations to senior business and technology leaders.

Responsibilities

Technical Discovery and Evaluation of Existing Architecture

  • Evaluate the current technological landscape supporting post-sales and maintenance operations.
  • Analyze the application portfolio, including ERP, CRM, OMS (Order Management System), service management, repair management solutions, workflow tools, and legacy platforms.
  • Document end-to-end system interactions throughout service journeys, including repair handling, diagnosis, intervention execution, logistics, customer communications, and financial processes.
  • Map integrations, APIs, batch processes, middleware components, and data flows within the ecosystem.
  • Evaluate how products, components, intervention history, warranty information, and repair events are represented in various systems and data models.
  • Analyze traceability requirements for serialized products, spare parts, and repair activities throughout the lifecycle of service operations.
  • Conduct architecture reviews to assess the scalability, resilience, maintainability, security, and operational support capability of existing solutions.

Analysis of Architecture Gaps

  • Evaluate the maturity of the existing architecture against best practices in enterprise architecture and modern digital platform architecture models.
  • Identify architectural bottlenecks, technical debt, legacy system constraints, and opportunities for modernization.
  • Evaluate integration models, data ownership, master data challenges, and interoperability between systems.
  • Analyze platform usage, adoption difficulties, data quality issues, and operational workarounds implemented due to technological limitations.
  • Produce a structured analysis highlighting architectural findings, risks, recommendations, and identified gaps.

Target Architecture and Platform Strategy

  • Define the target (future-state) architecture to support the global capabilities of post-sales services.
  • Develop conceptual and logical architecture views covering applications, integrations, services, APIs, data, and operational processes.
  • Recommend architecture models to enable omnichannel service journeys, real-time visibility, increased customer transparency, and better scalability of operations.
  • Lead or support structured platform evaluation activities, including needs analysis, fit-gap studies, vendor benchmarking, proof of concept (PoC) evaluations, and recommendation of platform solutions best suited to the target architecture.
  • Define integration architecture, API architecture, and data architecture principles to guide future implementation initiatives.

Roadmap and Transformation Planning

  • Define modernization and migration strategies by phases to achieve the target architecture.
  • Identify opportunities for legacy system rationalization and platform consolidation.
  • Develop implementation sequencing recommendations, balancing business value, technical complexity, and delivery risks.
  • Design architecture roadmaps aligned with company standards and strategic technology directions.

Collaboration with Stakeholders

  • Facilitate architecture workshops with engineering, product, operations, and business teams.
  • Unite stakeholders around architecture principles, target architecture recommendations, and technology priorities.
  • Present findings, analyses, and recommendations to enterprise architects, technology leaders, and executives.
  • Produce high-quality architecture deliverables and materials tailored to executive audiences.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and accessibly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Ability to work on Eastern Standard Time (EST) schedules and collaborate effectively with teams based in North America.
  • Availability for occasional travel to participate in on-site workshops, stakeholder meetings, store visits, and service center evaluations.
  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or Application Architect in complex enterprise environments.
  • Significant experience in post-sales services, repair operations, warranty management, on-site services (Field Service), restoration, maintenance, or other service-oriented environments.
  • Experience in conducting architecture evaluations, technical discovery missions, current-state analyses, maturity assessments, and gap analyses.
  • Solid experience in defining target architectures, modernization strategies, and technology transformation roadmaps.
  • Experience in sectors where products consist of multiple components or serialized parts, such as automotive, watchmaking, jewelry, industrial equipment, medical devices, aerospace, or other service-intensive industries.
  • Experience in large-scale international technological environments characterized by legacy systems, regional process variants, and fragmented application landscapes.
  • Excellent understanding of enterprise application ecosystems, including ERP, CRM, OMS (Order Management System), service management, repair management, and legacy platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, integration models, middleware, event-driven architectures, data modeling, and distributed systems.
  • Experience in evaluating and modernizing legacy environments and complex integration landscapes.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting architecture gap analyses and developing concrete, actionable transformation recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluating and selecting technology platforms through structured fit-gap analyses, vendor evaluations, and solution scoring methodologies.
  • Excellent workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with both technical and business stakeholders and translate operational needs into architectural solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical topics for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in leading post-sales services, repair operations, warranty management, returns, maintenance, or on-site service (Field Service) transformation programs.
  • Experience in luxury, watchmaking, jewelry, automotive, manufacturing, medical devices, aerospace, or other industries managing complex, repairable products requiring component traceability.
  • Experience in evaluating and selecting service management, repair management, warranty management, or post-sales technology platforms.
  • Proficiency in solutions such as Salesforce Service Cloud, Dynamics 365 Customer Service, ServiceNow, SAP Service Management, Oracle Service, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience with MACH architectures, composable architectures, microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-first platforms.
