ArduPilot, Firmware Embedded Developer

About the Position

TAF Industries, a leading military-tech company in the production and development of defense technologies, is seeking an ArduPilot / Firmware Embedded Developer. Our company, based in Kyiv, Ukraine, specializes in creating innovations that provide an advantage on the battlefield and save the lives of military and civilians. We are looking for a skilled developer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Customization and optimization of ArduPilot firmware for specific platforms
• Configuration of navigation, flight modes, and failsafe scenarios
• Integration of sensors and peripherals
• Analysis of flight logs and diagnosis of problems
• Building custom firmware
• Participation in field tests
• Maintenance of technical documentation

Requirements

• Experience in DefTech / MilTech UAV
• At least 2 years of experience with ArduPilot
• Good understanding of ArduPilot architecture, principles of EKF3, sensor fusion, PID, failsafe
• Experience in customizing firmware, integrating sensors, and peripherals
• Proficiency in C++, Python, MAVLink, SITL
• Experience with Mission Planner / QGroundControl and ability to analyze flight logs
• Experience with flight controllers, GPS/GNSS, IMU, compass, barometer, optical flow
• English proficiency sufficient to work with technical documentation

Nice to Have

• Understanding of PX4, ROS / ROS2, MAVROS
• Experience with DroneKit, UAVCAN, custom MAVLink messages
• Understanding of MCU bare-metal / RTOS
• Recommendations from previous employers
