About the Role

Assembly & Production Technician

Almond is building the physical interface for AI. Axol is a dual-arm robot designed for real-world deployment. We’re looking for an Assembly Technician to help us build, test, and ship robots to customers.

This role sits at the core of the company. You’ll be assembling the actual systems that go out into the world, working closely with engineering to improve reliability, speed, and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble Axol robots, including mechanical structures, wiring, and enclosures
  • Perform bring-up, testing, and basic debugging of robot systems
  • Follow and improve assembly procedures, work instructions, and checklists
  • Identify and flag issues during builds (fit, tolerance, wiring, reliability)
  • Work closely with engineers to iterate on designs
  • Support prototyping, rework, and small-batch production builds
  • Help manage parts, tools, and build organization on the floor
  • Track, audit, and manage inventory levels to ensure accuracy
  • Evaluate current processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency

Requirements

  • 1–3+ years of hands-on assembly or technician experience (robotics, hardware, automotive, aerospace, or similar)
  • Strong mechanical intuition and attention to detail
  • Experience with hand tools, fasteners, torque specs, and basic fabrication
  • Comfort working with wiring, connectors, and cable routing
  • Ability to debug issues and follow problems through to resolution
  • Willingness to work onsite and move quickly in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with crimping, harnessing, and coating
  • Experience assembling robots, electromechanical systems, or automation equipment
  • Familiarity with test equipment (multimeter, power supplies, etc.)
  • Experience with low-volume manufacturing or production builds
  • Exposure to CAD or ability to read engineering drawings

What We’re Looking For

  • High ownership: you care about the robot working in the field, not just on the bench
  • Speed & quality: you can move fast without breaking things
  • Strong communication with engineers. Surfacing issues early and clearly
  • Excitement about building real-world robotics systems

Why This Role Matters

Every robot we ship reflects our product. You’ll be directly responsible for turning designs into systems that work reliably in the real world.

About Almond

Our mission is to free humans from physical labor with robotics.

We imagine a future where robots handle the essential, repetitive work and humans are free to create, connect, and pursue what truly matters to them.

To build that future we’re starting from the ground up with hardware. Our first product is a California-designed and assembled humanoid arm. Surrounding it, we’re developing advanced controls, intuitive data collection, and a full AI stack that makes deployment effortless in real industrial environments. We’re proving it on our own assembly line first.
