About the Position

ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER

Lindsey Wilson University, a private university located in Columbia, Kentucky, is seeking applicants for multiple Assistant Athletic Trainer positions within the Lindsey Wilson University Sports Medicine Department. These positions are full-time over 11 months/year. The start date will be determined by the number of applicants and relocation.

Lindsey Wilson University is a member of the Mid-South Conference and the National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and sponsors 29 varsity/club sports programs consisting of 37 teams and 800+ student-athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation.
  • Assess risk of injury, perform ergonomic evaluation and coaching, self-care implementation, and overall wellness promotion.
  • Coordinate and implement injury prevention programs and customized preventative strategies and programs for each patient.
  • Minimize risk of injury through awareness, education, and prevention strategies.
  • Provide accommodation recommendations, related to sport, for student-athletes with restrictions and/or limitations based upon clinician evaluation and assessments.
  • Communicate with physicians and coaching staff regarding injury status of student-athletes.
  • Responsible for administrative duties including electronic documentation for all patient encounters, filing and management of insurance claims and follow-ups, management and coordination of doctors/surgery appointments.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s in athletic training from a CAATE accredited university or university.
  • Certification/Licenses: Must be Board of Certification (BOC ATC) certified; Must be licensed or eligible for licensure through the Kentucky Medical Board of Licensure; Must be certified in ALS/BLS from the American Heart Association/American Red Cross.
  • Additional Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license and have a current NPI Number.
