About the Position

Assistant Controller TVD

NBCUniversal is seeking a highly driven and energetic financial professional for its International Television Distribution (TVD) Finance and Accounting team based in Amsterdam. The TVD Controllership Team is looking for someone with a controllership mindset to drive continuous improvement in the closing and reporting process.

Responsibilities

• Monthly and Quarterly Close & Reporting: Oversee the general ledgers and all aspects of the close & reporting process for the Television distribution activities.
• Controllership and Special Projects: Ensure compliance with group policies and procedures, laws and regulations, and the integrity of financial and operational information. Participate in special finance projects focusing on continuous improvement and finance transformation.
• Statutory and Tax Reporting: Assist in external and internal audits and support the NBCU Tax team to ensure compliance with local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Governance: Work closely with NBCU’s Finance Operations teams and offshore finance partner to ensure all outsourced finance activities are performed as agreed.

• Experience working in a large external audit organization.
• Strong influencing and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must hold a Finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, US CPA, Dutch RA/RC).
• Proven professional working experience in a Controllership role or similar finance position within a large multinational organization.
• Strong technical accounting experience, including comprehensive understanding of Accounting Standards (US GAAP, UK GAAP, IFRS).
• Proficient user of financial accounting systems and competent in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is desired but not essential.
• Fluent in English (both verbal and in writing).
• Experience working within external audit.
• Experience of working with outsourced finance partners and managing teams in remote locations is desired.
