About the Position
Assistant Manager (BD - Agency)
We are seeking an Assistant Manager for Business Development in the Agency Channel to join our team in Singapore, focusing on growth and service excellence.

Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Supervising, coaching, and guiding team members to achieve individual operational metrics and collective production targets.
- Business Development: Identifying and executing strategic growth opportunities across general insurance lines to achieve premium targets and expand market share.
- Channel Management: Cultivating and maintaining relationships with agency partners and corporate clients to drive account retention and new business acquisition.
- Risk Underwriting: Evaluating and underwriting commercial and industrial risks within delegated authority limits in strict alignment with guidelines and treaty terms.
- Technical Governance: Formulating competitive quotations, reviewing renewal terms, and escalating complex risks exceeding established authority boundaries to the underwriting committee.
- Market Analysis: Reviewing competitor activities and market trends to identify growth areas, adjust commercial strategies, and support risk assessment.
Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of working experience within the general insurance sector, including exposure to business development and agency channel management.
- Certification: Possession of the Certificate in General Insurance (CGI).
- Technical Competency: Technical understanding of commercial and industrial underwriting guidelines, market analysis, and distribution strategies.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills alongside collaborative interpersonal capabilities.
