As a consultant at KPMG, you will be part of a collaborative team that provides strategic insights and innovative solutions to help clients address complex business issues and drive growth. You will work with experienced professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality services and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Alongside this, we expect our people to engage in ongoing learning and responsible practice in relation to the cultural history, societal interests, and identity of Aotearoa New Zealand, and to reflect that learning in their behavior, advice, and outcomes.

The Opportunity

  • Working alongside key government agencies in Wellington, our Consulting team is seeking an experienced Manager where you'll get a bird's-eye view of some of the key issues facing our clients in the 'new normal'.
  • You’ll collaborate with colleagues from across the division, gain new skills, and build on the strengths you bring to the firm, whilst working in a fast-paced and energetic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Use data to analyze trends and patterns and identify risks in processes.
  • Provide practical recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their business processes, systems, and organization.
  • Partner with technical subject matter experts to develop fit-for-purpose risk and control solutions.
  • Participate in the career and performance development of junior team members by supervising their work, providing them with timely and specific performance feedback.
  • Play a role in the development of business for the team, including identifying opportunities and pursuing them, developing thought leadership, leading client proposals, and developing team capabilities.
  • Build the reputation of KPMG through the quality of your work, expertise, and judgment, as well as innovative approaches.

Requirements

  • Previous risk and assurance/internal audit experience across various industries. Ideally within a professional services firm, government agency, and wider public sector, but it is not mandatory.
  • The ability to analyze information quickly and efficiently, using innovative and creative solutions to solve problems.
  • Oral and written communication is a key strength, including highly developed report writing along with planning, project management, relationship building, networking, and influencing skills.
  • A positive and flexible attitude and an enthusiasm to embrace new challenges and growth opportunities to gain experience.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and have the confidence to solve problems and fill gaps in knowledge by questioning, collaborating with others, and researching technical and contractual documentation.

We Offer
