Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are looking for an Assistant Relationship Manager for our Corporate Sector Coverage team based in Beijing. This role involves supporting senior bankers in client-facing activities and working closely with various internal stakeholders to ensure effective day-to-day client relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior bankers in business development with a designated portfolio of client relationships.
  • Conduct periodic targeted industry and companies research to support senior bankers in developing an in-depth understanding of client's business strategies and banking needs.
  • Support senior bankers in account planning, transaction execution, and ongoing monitoring efforts for the assigned client portfolio.
  • Perform portfolio monitoring including reviews/health checks, approval conditions, covenants, and seek required approvals where applicable.
  • Prepare call reports for each client meeting and important client engagements.
  • Assist the team with regular Know Your Customer (KYC) / client due diligence (CDD) review.
  • Conduct financial spreading to produce preliminary credit assessments for target clients.
  • Work with the ESG support team to conduct ESR assessment and ESR review.
  • Responsible for daily account management related tasks.
  • Risk-minded; Report and mitigate risks in a timely and reliable manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports for SAFE and PBOC.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports/memos for the team.
  • Contribute to department or branch projects.
  • Assigned duties as mutually agreed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the banking industry or financial firms, preferable knowledge in client coverage role.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, detailed, and meticulous.
  • Highly proficient in AI Tools, POWERPOINT, EXCEL, and WORD processing applications.
  • Mature, self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently and under tight timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong command in both spoken and written English and Mandarin.
  • Strong collaboration mindset and ability to work with colleagues from different geographies.
  • University/Postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a relevant discipline.
