About the Position
We are looking for an Assistant Relationship Manager for our Corporate Sector Coverage team based in Beijing. This role involves supporting senior bankers in client-facing activities and working closely with various internal stakeholders to ensure effective day-to-day client relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Support senior bankers in business development with a designated portfolio of client relationships.
- Conduct periodic targeted industry and companies research to support senior bankers in developing an in-depth understanding of client's business strategies and banking needs.
- Support senior bankers in account planning, transaction execution, and ongoing monitoring efforts for the assigned client portfolio.
- Perform portfolio monitoring including reviews/health checks, approval conditions, covenants, and seek required approvals where applicable.
- Prepare call reports for each client meeting and important client engagements.
- Assist the team with regular Know Your Customer (KYC) / client due diligence (CDD) review.
- Conduct financial spreading to produce preliminary credit assessments for target clients.
- Work with the ESG support team to conduct ESR assessment and ESR review.
- Responsible for daily account management related tasks.
- Risk-minded; Report and mitigate risks in a timely and reliable manner.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports for SAFE and PBOC.
- Assist in the preparation of reports/memos for the team.
- Contribute to department or branch projects.
- Assigned duties as mutually agreed.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the banking industry or financial firms, preferable knowledge in client coverage role.
- Strong analytical capabilities, detailed, and meticulous.
- Highly proficient in AI Tools, POWERPOINT, EXCEL, and WORD processing applications.
- Mature, self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently and under tight timelines.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong command in both spoken and written English and Mandarin.
- Strong collaboration mindset and ability to work with colleagues from different geographies.
- University/Postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a relevant discipline.
