About the Position
We are seeking an Associate Banker for our EBRD office in Cairo, Egypt. Join our team to contribute to the Energy Sector team in Egypt. The EBRD Egypt Energy Team seeks a professional with the experience, capability, and enthusiasm to become part of our growing success story in Egypt.
Responsibilities

Structuring and Execution
- Work as a project team member on transactions, contributing to all aspects of project structuring and execution.
- Be the primary driver of the scope and quality of project due diligence, including financial, market, integrity, and EBRD policy compliance.
- Prepare internal project documentation, including approval project memoranda, financial models, draft term sheets, presentations, etc.
- Take responsibility, as Technical Cooperation (TC) operation leader, to design and process technical co-operation assistance.

Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation and Reporting
- Take responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of all projects assigned, including compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures.
- Prepare timely and comprehensive monitoring reports and include recommendations for corrective actions.
- As a project team member, perform all tasks assigned by the operation leader and provide guidance to junior team members.

Business Development
- Assist with marketing and business development efforts as required.
Requirements

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA desirable.

Skills
- Strong quantitative/numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models.
- Credit analysis skills, with the ability to interpret accounts and understand local and international accounting principles.
- Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office and spreadsheet packages.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Good command of Arabic (oral and written) is an advantage.

Experience
- Relevant financial industry experience from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm.
- Practical experience of participating in transactions through the full project life cycle.
- Exposure to experience in the Egyptian energy market is preferred.
