Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are seeking an Associate Banker to join our team in Istanbul, working within the Infrastructure Sector. Reporting to the Country Head, you will contribute to all phases of the project cycle, including origination, structuring, negotiations, execution, and monitoring. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project finance and corporate finance, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Structuring and Execution

    • Work as a project team member on transactions, contributing to all aspects of project structuring and execution.
    • Be the primary driver of the scope and quality of project due diligence, including financial, market, integrity, and EBRD policy compliance.
    • Prepare internal project documentation, including approval project memoranda, financial models, draft term sheets, presentations, etc.
    • Take responsibility for designing and processing technical cooperation assistance.
  • Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting

    • Take responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of all projects assigned, ensuring compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures.
    • Prepare timely and comprehensive monitoring reports and include recommendations for corrective actions where required.
    • Ensure effective implementation and monitoring of technical cooperation assignments.
  • Business Development

    • Assist with marketing and business development efforts as required.

Requirements

  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
    • Professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA desirable.
  • Skills and Experience

    • Strong quantitative/numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models.
    • Credit analysis skills, with the ability to interpret accounts and understand local and international accounting principles.
    • Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office and spreadsheet packages.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
    • Good command of Turkish language (oral and written) is strongly preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant financial industry experience from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm.
    • Practical experience of participating in transactions through the full project life cycle.
    • Exposure to experience in the Turkish infrastructure market is preferred.
