About the Role

As an Associate, you will start with a focus on hands-on Data Engineering in customer projects. With growing experience, you will increasingly take on responsibility for the strategic platform design and develop into a Senior Consultant Data Platform Engineering (m/w/d).

Responsibilities

  • You will support our clients in selecting and implementing modern data platforms and technologies.
  • You will participate in the design and development of data platforms that support our clients' business processes.
  • You will assist in the implementation of data pipelines and integrations to improve data quality and availability.
  • You will work on measures to ensure data quality and security, learning best practices along the way.
  • You will participate in projects, take on partial tasks in implementation, and explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You will continuously educate yourself and adapt to new technologies and methods in the field of data architecture.

Requirements

  • You have successfully completed your master's degree or doctorate in one of the STEM subjects or a humanities subject with a STEM focus.
  • As a consultant: You have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience, ideally as an "(Associate) Consultant" at an IT consultancy.
  • You have practical experience in data engineering (ETL/ELT, SQL, Python, cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP) and initial practical experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • You can analyze requirements from various departments and translate them into scalable platform concepts (e.g., DWH vs. Lakehouse).
  • You have a good sense for technological decisions (e.g., storage layer, tool selection, batch vs. streaming).
  • You have basic knowledge of cloud and infrastructure and can define platform components as code (IaC).
  • You consider aspects such as data quality, governance, security, and automation already in the architecture.
  • You combine technical depth in data engineering with strategic platform thinking and can clearly communicate complex issues to different stakeholders.
  • You communicate convincingly and efficiently in German and English.
  • You enjoy working in a flexible mix of home office, at our location in Bonn, and on-site at clients.

Why Join Us?

  • With your team, you support our clients in understanding their data and using the insights to benefit them.
  • Mass-produced client projects are not our style: You work on an average of at least two client projects simultaneously, allowing you to focus intensively on the requirements and see how your solutions unfold.
  • Variety in your daily work comes from the diversity of our clients from all industries, from medium-sized companies to DAX corporations.
  • You exchange ideas with your future colleagues at eye level and receive budget and time for your own innovation projects.
  • You grow professionally and personally through training, certifications, and career programs tailored specifically to you.
  • You can set and expand your focus in your areas of expertise.
  • In addition to an attractive fixed salary plus sales and profit participation, you can compensate for overtime and book travel time as working time.
  • With the free choice of workplace and flexible working hours, you can shape your daily work to fit your lifestyle.
  • You can also look forward to a top-equipped workplace, JobRad, Body & Mind Workout, GamesNights, grilling on our rooftop terrace, team activities with enterprising colleagues, summer parties with your family members, and many other benefits.
