About the Role

Depending on the needs of the customer project, you will take on multiple roles:

  • As a technical expert for MLOps, you will be the primary contact for the technical design and implementation of MLOps infrastructures and automation solutions
  • As an implementer/engineer, you will build platforms and pipelines, configure tools, and write the necessary code (IaC, CI/CD configurations, automation scripts)
  • As an enabler/supporter, you will help data science teams and other stakeholders at our customers to effectively use MLOps platforms and processes and successfully bring their ML models into production
  • At the interface between data science, software development (DevOps), IT operations, and possibly security, you will coordinate technical requirements to integrate solutions

Responsibilities

  • You will follow current developments in the field of MLOps and DevOps and learn to evaluate and deploy new technologies
  • Together with experienced colleagues, you will work on the design, development, and further development of MLOps platforms – including the design of the technical infrastructure and toolchains (e.g., based on Kubeflow and Kubernetes) – to support and automate the entire machine learning lifecycle
  • You will assist in the deployment of ML models and participate in the automation of workflows through CI/CD pipelines (e.g., with GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions) – including troubleshooting and support
  • You will help with the integration and operation of central MLOps tools such as MLflow for experiment tracking, model registry, and deployment, and learn how to integrate them into CI/CD processes
  • You will work on the implementation of GitOps practices (e.g., with Argo CD) for the automated delivery of infrastructure and applications
  • You will assist in the setup of monitoring and logging solutions to monitor platforms, pipelines, and productive ML models
  • Together with security teams, you will work on the implementation of DevSecOps practices (e.g., container scanning, secret management, access controls) and learn how to integrate security into automated processes

Requirements

  • You have successfully completed your master's degree or doctorate in one of the STEM subjects
  • As a consultant, you have at least two years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the role as an (Associate) Consultant at an IT consultancy
  • You are proficient in Python and have initial experience with automations and integrations of machine learning components
  • You work with Bash or Shell scripting, especially in the context of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure tasks
  • You have experience in containerization with Docker
  • Ideally, you are familiar with Kubernetes – including administration, network architectures, and security policies – and have a basic understanding of GitOps approaches and are familiar with tools like Argo CD or FluxCD
  • It is also an advantage if you are familiar with MLOps platforms such as Kubeflow, MLflow, and Azure ML
  • Another plus is if you have practical experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (GCP) and know their Kubernetes offerings (EKS, AKS, GKE) as well as relevant ML and DevOps services
  • You communicate convincingly and efficiently in German and English
  • You enjoy working in a flexible mix of home office, at our location in Bonn, and on-site at customers

We Offer

  • With your team, you will support our customers in understanding their data and using the insights to their advantage
  • Customer projects following the assembly line principle are not our thing: You will work on an average of at least two customer projects simultaneously, allowing you to focus intensively on the requirements and see how your solutions take effect
  • Variety in your daily work brings the diversity of our customers from all industries, from medium-sized companies to DAX corporations
  • With your future colleagues, you will exchange ideas on an equal footing and receive budget and time for your own innovation projects
  • You will grow professionally and personally with us through training, certifications, and career programs tailored specifically to you
  • In your areas of expertise, you can set and expand your focus
  • In addition to an attractive fixed salary plus sales and profit participation, you can compensate for overtime and book travel time as working time
  • With the free choice of workplace and flexible working hours, you can shape your daily work to fit your lifestyle
  • You can also look forward to a top-equipped workplace, JobRad, Body & Mind Workout, GamesNights, grilling on our rooftop terrace, team activities with enterprising colleagues, summer parties with your family members, and many other benefits
