About the Position

Associate, Corporate Finance M&A

We are seeking an Associate for our Corporate Finance M&A team in New York. This role offers a mix of hands-on transaction experience across industries and deal sizes, with a majority having a cross-border aspect. You will work with team members globally in the analysis, financial modeling, negotiation, sourcing, and managing of M&A and advisory transactions on behalf of ING’s clients.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the Corporate Finance M&A team in New York, focusing on originating and executing M&A deals, strategic advisory assignments, and capital raising transactions.
  • Assist in the origination of new business opportunities by preparing and delivering client presentations, conducting sector and company research, and preparing briefing packages.
  • Support the execution efforts on transactions and assist the team in ensuring timely and successful closings.
  • Prepare compelling pitches and presentations and create comprehensive financial models and valuation analyses.
  • Act as a point of learning for Analysts and proactively monitor the quality and accuracy of their output.
  • Represent ING professionally at site visits, management presentations, and client meetings, and start to build relationships with market counterparties and peers.
  • Actively participate in client meetings and build business insight and interpersonal skills.
  • Contribute to revenue targets and assist in meeting the global budget.
  • Respond to information requests from the Global Corporate Finance platform related to companies and businesses located in North America.
  • Liaise closely with colleagues in other CM&A departments to deliver integrated solutions to ING’s clients.
  • Maintain close ties with the relevant product and sector teams within ING.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of working experience within M&A at a reputable investment bank, boutique, or specialized financial modeling & valuation practice.
  • Thorough interest in M&A and strong know-how of M&A and advisory processes.
  • Proficiency in valuation and financial modeling, with a strong ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear, compelling manner.
  • High energy level, strong commercial drive, attention to detail, and ability to work time-efficiently within a team setting.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond for the sake of the team and client’s objectives.
  • Strong communication skills and the ambition to mentor and train more junior team members.
  • Series 7 or 79, and 63 registrations (or expected to obtain in short order).

Salary

$170,000 - $225,000 per year
