About the Position
Debt Recovery Associate Attorney
Full-Time | Colorado Bar Admission Required
We are seeking an experienced Debt Recovery Associate Attorney to join our team. This role focuses on the collection of unpaid assessments from homeowners within covenant-controlled communities (including condominiums, townhomes, and single-family homes) through judgment enforcement and judicial foreclosure. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 700 active collection files.
- Evaluate delinquencies, prepare case intakes, and handle pre- and post-trial negotiations, including ADR.
- Draft, review, and approve pleadings in county, district, and bankruptcy courts.
- Prepare and execute post-judgment actions, including garnishments, interrogatories, stipulations, and foreclosures.
- Conduct and appear at hearings, trials, and appeals as required.
- Perform legal research to support case strategy and filings.
- Monitor and evaluate bankruptcies, foreclosures, and related proceedings.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and outcomes.
- Supervise and develop support staff to ensure efficient caseload management.
- Participate in business development activities as needed.
- Maintain timely and accurate reporting and case updates.
Requirements
- Active license to practice law in the State of Colorado.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal collections, debt recovery, or related litigation practice.
- Strong knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management software.
