About the Role
As an Audit Supervisor Retail Banking, you will lead the audit processes within the Retail domains to ensure that controls have been designed adequately and implemented effectively. You will be a member of the 3rd Line of Defense within the Corporate Audit Services / Retail Belux team in ING BE.
Responsibilities
- Gain a thorough understanding of the Retail businesses & end-to-end processes audited, their inherent risks, underlying regulatory requirements, and ING-expected control frameworks.
- Interact with stakeholders and manage their expectations, ensuring that issues identified as a result of fieldwork have been discussed and agreed with all relevant stakeholders.
- Perform audits which include walkthroughs, meetings, and data analytics to increase audit coverage and high-quality control testing results.
- Ensure the quality and timeliness of the audits you participate in either as lead or as a team member.
- Assess whether key risks are adequately mitigated by evaluating the effectiveness of key controls.
- Supervise the work performed by the team members and coach them on the job.
- Summarize findings and value-added recommendations. Document the fieldwork test results and the supporting evidences in Team Mate+ (Audit Workflow) within the timelines agreed at the beginning of the audit.
- Write clear audit reports in line with CAS report writing standards.
- Perform assessments of submitted issues for closures.
- Stay well informed on the business and risk developments, internally and externally.
- Stay up-to-date with the trends and techniques in the internal auditing profession.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of relevant Retail Banking experience (Payment, Lending, Investments, Insurance,...).
- A Master's degree or equivalent.
- An independent mindset and professional skepticism. Ability to challenge existing patterns, to speak up, and sustain your point of view in an argued and assertive manner.
- Solution-oriented, ability to advise on workable actions to mitigate risks in a sustainable manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, including handling competing priorities.
- Ability to make complex analyses and summarize key messages in verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in speaking and writing in English language.
- To be a strong team player who understands emotional intelligence drivers.
- Mandatory audit certification (CIA, CISA,...) required within 18 months.
