Automation QA Engineer

About the Position

The client is looking for a motivated Automation QA Engineer to join their growing team. This role will be integral in ensuring the quality and reliability of the e-commerce websites. As a key member of a newly formed e-commerce team, you will have the opportunity to shape their testing strategy from the ground up, focusing on both automated web tests and API testing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives on collaboration and enjoys working closely with the engineering team to build a robust and scalable testing framework.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated web tests and API tests
• Collaborate with the engineering team to build a scalable testing framework
• Ensure the quality and reliability of e-commerce websites
• Shape the testing strategy from the ground up

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in software quality assurance and test automation
• Proven experience in automated testing of web applications
• Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, C#)
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Rest Assured)
• Knowledge of mobile application testing is a plus
• Experience working in larger, more complex organizations is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Other Requirements

This is a distributed, remote-first position. The client believes in the power of in-person collaboration and requires team members to be available for travel at least four times per year for team meetings.
