Avaloq Developer

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Avaloq Developer with deep specialism in tax and capital gains calculation modules - specifically CGCalc and/or CGiX - to support a major financial services organization. This is a high-impact engagement requiring strong technical and domain expertise in Avaloq's tax architecture.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an initial assessment of the current tax calculation architecture within Avaloq, evaluating existing system design, data flows, and integration points.
• Produce a proposal identifying the optimal target system architecture going forward, weighing the trade-offs between continuing with the existing setup versus transitioning to an alternative.
• Work closely with stakeholders across tax, technology, and operations to validate findings and ensure recommendations are commercially and technically sound.
• Produce clear documentation suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Mandatory: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Avaloq Banking Suite
• Mandatory: Hands-on experience with CGCalc and/or CGiX
• Strong understanding of investment tax principles, capital gains computation, and regulatory reporting requirements in the financial services sector
• Ability to assess legacy or complex system landscapes and convert analysis into clear, actionable recommendations
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to both business and technical stakeholders
• Prior experience with system migration or transformation initiatives in financial services is a strong advantage
• Knowledge of Avaloq scripting (ALES) and related development tools is preferred
