About the Position

AWS Cloud Architect - London, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle

A leading technology consulting firm is recruiting for an experienced Cloud Architect with expertise in AWS and cloud-native infrastructure. This role involves working on complex, business-critical projects for public sector and regulated clients. The successful candidate will help design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions, enabling digital transformation through modern architecture, platform engineering, and DevOps practices.

Salary: £65,000 to £95,000 GBP

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions for clients.
• Advise clients and lead small teams or workstreams.
• Combine hands-on architecture with technical leadership.
• Help clients adopt, modernize, and optimize cloud platforms.
• Deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions in public sector and regulated environments.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) in cloud architecture, engineering, and transformation delivery.
• AWS cloud architecture certification (Associate or Professional level).
• Strong expertise in AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience designing cloud architectures and supporting cloud migration or modernization initiatives.
• Experience defining target architectures, platform capabilities, and technical roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
• Strong understanding of platform engineering, Infrastructure as Code, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience implementing cloud security, governance, and resilience controls within enterprise environments.
• Experience leading small teams or workstreams, delivering solutions to time, cost, and quality expectations.
• Ability to build strong relationships with client stakeholders and provide architectural guidance to delivery teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and identify pragmatic solutions.
• Good understanding of cloud financial management principles and the drivers of cost-effective cloud delivery.
• Experience working within client-facing consulting environments and delivering business value through technology.
• Experience supporting and mentoring engineers and junior team members.
