About the Position
We are seeking a Lead AWS DevOps Engineer to spearhead the creation, development, and refinement of scalable cloud solutions using AWS technologies.
Remote in Ukraine: Lviv
This role concentrates on modernizing legacy monolith systems, enhancing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring high-performance deployment pipelines. Working in conjunction with cross-functional teams, you will implement microservices architecture, improve automation, and direct cloud-native development in line with AWS best practices.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the microservices architecture design and development based on the strangler fig tree approach to replace legacy monolith systems incrementally
- Design, implement, and upkeep Java-based scalable, high-performance solutions supporting transformation and migration activities
- Engage with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality solutions in adherence with AWS best practices for cloud-native applications
- Provide expertise in technical leadership, mentoring, and code reviews aimed at efficient, reusable, and maintainable code emphasizing performance optimization and fault tolerance
- Supervise unit tests, integration tests, and strategies for deploying to maintain superior implementations
- Collaborate intensively with database engineers and DevOps teams to fortify robust CI/CD deployment pipelines for microservices
- Track system performance, resolve issues, and apply preemptive enhancements
- Establish best practices for cloud security, IAM policies, and encryption models
Requirements
- 5+ years of background in software development, focusing on microservices and cloud transformation
- Leadership experience demonstrated in cloud-native application development and DevOps techniques
- Proficiency in Java programming and microservices architecture
- Hands-on familiarity with AWS tools including DynamoDB, Lambda, and S3
- Background in designing and implementing ETL processes and CDC pipelines
- Deep understanding of the strangler fig tree pattern for modernizing legacy systems
- Substantial knowledge in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines
- Expertise in infrastructure automation utilizing AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
- Competency with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, IAM, and encryption models
- B2+ English level
