About the Position
BACKEND-DATABASE ENGINEER
REcollab is the first-ever networking and collaboration platform designed exclusively for the real estate industry. We are actively hiring a Backend Database Engineer to join our team in Chattanooga, Tennessee, or remotely within the United States.
Salary: $80k – $105k
Employment Type: Full Time
Responsibilities
- Facilitate how data is structured, stored, secured, and retrieved at scale.
- Build and optimize data models and storage in MongoDB/NoSQL databases.
- Support backend services built in Spring Boot/Java with reliable, performant data access.
- Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and write secure systems.
- Mandate correct use of datatypes and proper data placement throughout commercial systems.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Deep familiarity with MongoDB/NoSQL databases and geographical information systems.
- Strong command of supporting backend services built in Spring Boot/Java.
- Experience with AWS S3, WorkOS, and GIS.
- Hands-on experience implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
Personal Skills
- Clear written and verbal communication in English.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Attention to detail and pride in clean, maintainable work.
- Self-motivated; works well independently and on a team.
Nice to Have
- Database performance tuning and indexing expertise.
- Experience with data migration and schema evolution.
- Experience designing systems from the ground up.
- Willingness to relocate to Chattanooga, TN.
