About the Position
Backend Developer (US)
EdgeQ Technologies is a leading US staffing provider, and we are seeking a skilled Backend Developer with 2–5 years of professional experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and APIs. This role offers a hybrid work model and is available in New York City, NY; Seattle, WA; Austin, TX; or Chicago, IL.
Salary: $90,000–$170,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services and applications.
- Build, maintain, and integrate RESTful APIs and backend systems.
- Develop applications using Java, Python, and/or Node.js.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Optimize backend applications for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Integrate third-party services and internal APIs.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and product teams.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and Agile development processes.
- Maintain technical documentation for backend systems and APIs.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of backend development experience.
- Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or Node.js.
- Experience developing REST APIs and web services.
- Good understanding of backend architecture and application development.
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
- Knowledge of Git and version-control workflows.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with authentication technologies such as OAuth/JWT.
- Understanding of application security and API best practices.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
