About the Position

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our team in Valencia or remotely. TrustWorks is a European, venture-backed startup building an AI-driven compliance platform for privacy and AI governance.

Responsibilities

Design, architect, and implement cross-functional workflows with data operations that minimize privacy risk while delivering end-to-end data rights to customers.
Build a cohesive ecosystem of integrations to ensure privacy of customer data.
Write code that integrates AWS, infrastructure, platform, frameworks, and SaaS technologies.
Ship changes to production in your first week and features in your first month.
Build the infrastructure and tools needed to execute data rights requests and privacy operations across a company's entire data stack.
Work on an Open Data Rights standard for the future of the internet.

Requirements

Experienced in Python and/or another OO language.
Knowledgeable in the testing pyramid (Unit Tests, Integration Tests, E2E Tests).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position or as a full-time freelancer.
Experience in building integration architectures and connectors to third-party APIs.
AWS experience.
Understanding of microservices architecture and principles.
Ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
Eligibility to work in Spain.
Knowledge of code patterns such as factories, decorators, adaptors, etc.

Nice to Have

Knowledge related to Continuous Integration Environments.
Experience with Airflow & FastAPI.
Relevant programming knowledge in other languages.
Experience in building scalable infrastructure from scratch.
Genuine enjoyment of technology and a good understanding of Startup culture.
Knowledge of encrypted data flows and encryption of data at rest.
Experience in Data Privacy, Security, or Governance Projects and Products.
