We are currently recruiting a Backend Engineer (m/f) – Hybrid (Lisbon) for integration in our internal team/client.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Kotlin.
• Implement robust, scalable services with Spring Boot and Ktor frameworks.
• Optimize and design SQL and relational databases.
• Develop REST APIs and work with microservices architectures.
• Utilize cloud-based services, preferably AWS.
• Work within an Agile development environment, embracing incremental delivery and continuous feedback.
• Debug and tune performance for optimal results.
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively in English.

Requirements

• Hard Skills:

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Backend Engineer or in a similar engineering role within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficient in Kotlin for backend development.
  • Solid hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Ktor frameworks.
  • Solid hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases, including optimization and schema design.
  • Familiarity with REST API design principles, microservices architectures, and cloud-based services (preferably AWS).
  • Comfortable working within an Agile development environment, embracing incremental delivery and continuous feedback.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a sharp eye for debugging and performance tuning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences.
