Backend Java Engineer

We currently have openings in Madrid and Bilbao for Backend Software Engineers (Java, Microservices, and Python) who want to develop their professional careers at GFT. We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive individuals eager to keep learning, who wish to grow in a multicultural, dynamic, collaborative, and challenging environment.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Understanding client needs and working closely with the corresponding teams to ensure that the developed cloud solution aligns with the needs and GFT's Value Proposition.

• Analyzing, developing, and maintaining software modules (Java, Python), working on both existing code and new developments, based on functional and technical requirements and specifications.

• Conducting code reviews, identifying opportunities for improvement, and promoting good development practices.

• Collaborating in the design and development of software module prototypes and applications.

• Designing, developing, and executing unit tests, ensuring the quality and correct functioning of the developed code.

• Utilizing and consolidating knowledge of testing tools and processes and bug tracking (bug tracking) used in the project.

• Actively participating in the different phases of the software development lifecycle, from analysis to deployment and maintenance.

Requirements

• 6 years or more of experience in backend software development with Java.

• Solid experience in the design and development of microservices-based architectures using Spring Boot.

• Demonstrable experience in development with Python.

• Extensive knowledge in the design and implementation of REST APIs.

• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is valuable.

• Experience applying good development practices (Clean Code, SOLID, design patterns) and conducting code reviews.

• Ability to technically lead developments, mentor less experienced profiles, and collaborate in making technical decisions.

• Experience working with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

• English level B2 or higher.

• Availability to attend the office 3 days a week (Madrid or Bilbao).
