Backend Java Engineer

What we are looking for:

Currently, we have openings in Madrid and Bilbao for Backend Software Engineers (Java, Microservices, and Python) who want to develop their professional careers in GFT. We seek enthusiastic individuals with initiative and a desire to keep learning, who wish to grow in a multicultural, dynamic, collaborative, and challenging environment.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Understand client needs and work closely with the corresponding teams to ensure that the cloud solution developed is aligned with the needs and Value Proposition of GFT.
• Analyze, develop, and maintain software modules (Java, Python), working on both existing code and new developments, based on functional and technical requirements and specifications.
• Perform code reviews, identifying opportunities for improvement and promoting good development practices.
• Collaborate in the design and development of software module prototypes and applications.
• Design, develop, and execute unit tests, ensuring the quality and correct functioning of the developed code.
• Utilize and consolidate knowledge of testing tools and incident management processes (bug tracking) used in the project.
• Actively participate in the different phases of the software development lifecycle, from analysis to deployment and maintenance.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in backend software development with Java.
• Solid experience in designing and developing microservices architectures using Spring Boot.
• Demonstrable experience in development with Python.
• Extensive knowledge in the design and implementation of REST APIs.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is valuable.
• Experience applying good development practices (Clean Code, SOLID, design patterns) and performing code reviews.
• Ability to technically lead developments, mentor less experienced profiles, and collaborate in making technical decisions.
• Experience working with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• English level B2 or higher.
• Availability to attend the office 3 days a week (Madrid or Bilbao).
