Backend Software Engineer (C++)

About the Position

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer (C++) to join our team in a fully remote position based in Portugal. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing backend services in C++ within a cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services in C++ within a monolithic architecture integrated into a microservices environment running on Linux.
• Use AI tools to support application development and maintenance.
• Maintain a strong focus on business logic and end-to-end processes.
• Work with Oracle SQL databases to support backend services.
• Implement event-driven integration using Kafka.
• Deploy and manage services on Google Cloud Platform using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Apply development best practices, monitoring, and DevOps principles while collaborating closely with other engineers in an agile team.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of professional experience developing backend services with C++;
• Solid experience working in Linux environments;
• Good knowledge of Oracle databases and SQL, including query development and optimization;
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures;
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes;
• Experience deploying or maintaining applications in cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform, although AWS or Azure experience is also relevant;
• Understanding of monolithic and microservices architectures, including service integration and end-to-end business processes;
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices, monitoring, CI/CD, and DevOps principles;
• Experience working collaboratively within Agile teams;
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field;
• B1 level in Spanish.
