Backend Software Engineer Java Microservice Cloud – Hybrid (Lisbon)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and relevant frameworks (e.g., Spring, Spring Boot).
• Develop REST-based APIs.
• Implement message streaming frameworks like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
• Work with databases such as SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Utilize modern CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
• Manage cloud services, particularly Amazon AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
• Use Docker Containers and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate in an agile team environment.

Requirements

• Science degree in (business) computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or comparable.
• Team player with a willingness to share knowledge and find solutions for the team, product, and company.
• Professional software development experience, ideally in the field of logistics.
• Expertise in Java 17+, relevant frameworks, and REST-based API design.
• Familiarity with message streaming frameworks like Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or others.
• Good knowledge in the area of databases (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
• Knowledge in the areas of Cloud, Amazon AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
• Experience with Docker Containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience working in an agile team.
• Good English skills.
