Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Own and expand Wise’s regulatory presence in Colombia. Manage the entire licensing process, understand regulations, prepare and submit applications, and ensure regulatory buy-in.
• Product Development: Collaborate with product teams to define opportunities for our products in Colombia. Develop better products and experiences for our customers.
• Banking Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with relevant financial institutions. Open new relationships and improve existing ones to ensure sustainable and competitive services.
• Market Expansion: Define and execute the market expansion strategy in Colombia. Be the face of Wise in Colombia, both internally and externally.

Requirements

• Regulatory Compliance: Excellent at managing financial regulatory relationships and constantly creating opportunities to improve them.
• Financial Regulation: Deep understanding of financial, payments, and FX regulators and the decision-makers involved.
• Banking Partnerships: Experience in managing relationships with corporate banks and financial institutions.
• Languages: Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Location: Resident in Colombia and able to serve as the local representative in the country.
• Experience: Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently and flexibly in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to Have

• Regulatory Experience: Strong relationships and experience with regulators in Colombia, especially the Superintendencia Financiera and Banco de la Republica.
• Financial Licensing: Experience in obtaining licenses in Colombia, with a desirable experience in SEDPE license.
• Market Knowledge: Understanding of payments infrastructure in the region and the nuances of the FX market in Latam.
