The Role
We’re bringing our Virtual Data Room product to Canada, and we’re looking for our first Business Development Associate (Account Executive) hire in the Toronto area to build the market from the ground up. You’ll be joining a North America sales team that has already proven the model across New York, Chicago, Boston, D.C., Atlanta, and Miami, and taking it into one of the world’s most active M&A and financial services markets.
As a front-line, quota-carrying team member, you’ll proactively prospect and close new business, managing a pipeline of 50+ opportunities and reaching out to 30-40 new customers each month. Your primary counterparts are C-suite and senior decision-makers across Finance, Banking, and adjacent sectors – people who move fast and expect the same from their partners.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and industry influencers throughout the Toronto metropolitan region
- Deliver sales targets by focusing on new customer acquisition
- Proactively build and manage a pipeline, working with strategic Canadian accounts and constantly developing new opportunities
- Actively contribute to the execution of the sales and marketing strategy for Canada
- Take part in arranging M&A Community events, enhancing Ideals’ visibility
- Deliver compelling product presentations to clients
- Structure, negotiate, and close deals
- Consistently share insights and provide updates to customers
- Provide relevant customer feedback to the product development and management teams
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Inside Sales to grow customer satisfaction and the company’s revenue
Requirements
- 1.5 – 2 years of demonstrable success in direct sales or business development within the B2B or professional services sector
- Experience in high-velocity sales environments and effectively engaging with decision-makers
- A track record of successfully managing pipelines and closing high-value deals
- Exceptional business communication skills to structure persuasive pitches and navigate client discovery
- Fluency in English
Nice to Have
- SaaS, financial, fintech, or information security industry background
- University degree
- Fluency in French or another additional language
