As Bereichsleitung IT Weiterbildung & Umschulung, you will be responsible for the professional, personnel, and structural development of a department in the AZAV-funded further education with a focus on IT Infrastructure & Security, AI & Data Science, Software Development, and Fachinformatik. You will manage both permanent lecturers and freelance lecturers in various subject teams. Through the respective subject coordinators, you create the prerequisites for a high-quality, practical, and reliable implementation of our training courses and retraining programs. You combine technical know-how in IT with solid experience in vocational training. You ensure that our learning content is up-to-date, occupation-oriented, and develop the professional focus of your department further, ensuring that our lecturers meet the professional and didactic requirements. Together with your subject team coordinators, you develop sustainable structures, support your employees, and ensure that your department is well-staffed, professionally, and organizationally.

Responsibilities

• You lead and develop your department with several sub-teams and subject team coordinators, and you are responsible for personnel decisions, performance, staff development, and recruiting.
• You develop the department portfolio and professional orientation together with the Product and Sales Team and further develop the subject cluster in a market-oriented manner.
• You ensure that our training and retraining content is current, occupation-oriented, and of high didactic quality.
• You plan the personnel requirements, coordinate the deployment of lecturers, and ensure the appropriate staffing of your department.
• You are responsible for budget compliance and prioritize professional and personnel resources.
• You develop structures, processes, and responsibilities and ensure a reliable and efficient teaching operation.
• You observe relevant developments in IT and AI and derive impulses for the further development of our training offers.
• You work closely with product management, recruiting, scheduling, and other internal interfaces.

Requirements

What you bring:

• You have several years of experience in vocational training, adult education, or with a comparable educational provider and know the special requirements of this environment.
• You have solid professional IT knowledge and can assess the technical content and its relevance for vocational qualification offers professionally.
• You have several years of management or leadership experience and are familiar with managing employees and ideally with managing multiple teams or departments.
• You have experience in the conception, implementation, quality assurance, or further development of training and qualification offers.
• You understand how occupation-oriented learning content is structured, kept up-to-date professionally, and conveyed didactically sensibly.
• You have experience in personnel planning and the management of personnel resources.
• You work in a structured, reliable, and solution-oriented manner and can set clear priorities even with complex requirements.
• You communicate bindingly and empathetically, make comprehensible decisions, and know how to align subject coordinators, lecturers, and other stakeholders with common goals.
• You have excellent German language skills in speech and writing.

What would be a plus:

• Experience with an AZAV-certified educational provider and a solid understanding of the requirements for funded further education and retraining.
• Experience in managing a department with several sub-teams and decentralized responsibilities.
• Knowledge in software development, IT infrastructure, and/or AI.
• Experience in quality management and the sustainable improvement of teaching and learning processes.
• Experience in budget planning and the economic use of personnel and professional resources.
