About the Position

We are seeking a BigData Platform Engineer to build and maintain large-scale data processing pipelines using Scala and Apache Spark in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Scala and Apache Spark
Build batch and streaming data processing solutions consuming data from Kafka and enterprise sources
Optimize processing jobs for performance, scalability, and reliability
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated deployments (GitLab CI)
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for data applications and services
Investigate production incidents, troubleshoot issues, and identify root causes
Contribute to architecture discussions and engineering best practices
Perform code reviews and promote quality standards across the team
Senior only: mentor mid and junior engineers and support their technical growth

Requirements

Strong hands-on experience with Scala development in production environments
Experience building data processing solutions using Apache Spark (Spark 3.x preferred)
Solid understanding of distributed systems and large-scale data processing
Experience with version control and collaborative development workflows (Git/GitLab)
Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical solutions
English proficiency sufficient for daily collaboration with Czech-based engineering teams

Nice to Have

Experience with Kafka and real-time streaming
Familiarity with the Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Impala, HDFS) or Cloudera Data Platform
Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Splunk) or automated testing for data applications
