About the Position
BOS TETRA Planner Senior
We are seeking an experienced BOS TETRA Planner Specialist to support large-scale infrastructure and public-sector projects across Germany. This role involves designing and optimizing BOS TETRA radio systems for emergency services, including Police, Fire Brigades, and Ambulance Services.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and optimize BOS TETRA radio networks for new and existing facilities.
- Develop radio coverage concepts that meet BOS operational and regulatory requirements.
- Perform radio network dimensioning, propagation analysis, and frequency planning.
- Design, validate, and optimize indoor radio coverage solutions for complex buildings and large infrastructure projects.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and authority requirements.
- Coordinate closely with local Fire Brigades, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), public safety organizations, and internal engineering teams.
- Support technical reviews, approval processes, and authority acceptance procedures.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations throughout the planning, design, and construction phases.
- Conduct site visits, technical surveys, inspections, and commissioning activities.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, planning reports, compliance records, and project deliverables.
Requirements
Required Expertise
- Extensive experience planning and designing BOS TETRA radio networks.
- Strong understanding of Digital Radio BOS standards, regulations, and approval processes in Germany.
- Experience with radio propagation modelling, coverage analysis, and network dimensioning.
- Expertise in indoor radio coverage solutions, including DAS and leaky feeder systems.
- Solid knowledge of RF technologies, antennas, and passive/active network components.
- Experience working directly with Fire Brigades, BOS authorities, and other public-sector stakeholders.
- Familiarity with German building regulations and relevant industry standards (including DIN 14024).
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and provide technical leadership throughout project delivery.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel within Germany for site surveys, meetings, and project support.
Education
- Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Radio Communications, or a related technical discipline.
- Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
Professional Experience
- Several years of hands-on experience in BOS Digital Radio and TETRA network planning.
- Proven experience delivering BOS communication solutions for large and complex facilities.
- Demonstrated experience with public buildings, transportation hubs, hospitals, airports, industrial facilities, or projects exceeding 90,000 sqm.
